For 11th time: Israeli settlers attack Urif school

March 5, 2019 4:33 P.M. (Updated: March 8, 2019 11:50 A.M.)
NABLUS (Ma'an) -- Israeli settlers attacked and surrounded a Palestinian high school in the Urif village, in the northern occupied West Bank district of Nablus, injuring a student and damaging several vehicles, on Tuesday.

Ghassan Daghlas, an official who monitors settlement activity in the northern West Bank, told Ma'an that 50 Israeli settlers from the nearby illegal Israeli settlement of Yitzhar raided the eastern area of Urif, forcing the school to dismiss classes for the 11th time since the beginning of the school year.

Daghlas confirmed that one student was injured with rocks thrown by Israeli settlers; he was treated on the spot.

Israeli settlers attacked damaged three vehicles belonging to teachers at the school.

Locals told Ma'an that Israeli military vehicles raided the village at the same time of the attack, which caused clashes to erupt between Israeli soldiers and locals.

Israeli forces fired tear-gas bombs and stun grenades; no injuries were reported.

The Urif high school has been repeatedly attacked by Israeli settlers in the past few months.
