3 Palestinian National Security members killed in Jenin-area car accident

July 2, 2018 1:34 P.M. (Updated: July 2, 2018 4:59 P.M.)
JENIN (Ma'an) -- Three Palestinian National Security members were killed in a car accident in the northern West Bank district of Jenin on Sunday evening.

Palestinian Police Spokesman Luay Irzeiqat said that three national security members were killed in a car accident in Jenin City while on duty, while three others were injured.

Governor of the Jenin district Ibrahim Ramadan said that the accident was “self-inflicted” as the patrol vehicle they were driving in an official mission hit an electricity pole on the main road between the Jenin and Nablus district before an electrical fault occurred.

The three killed men were pronounced dead upon arrival at the Jenin Governmental Hospital and were identified as Udayy Sawalaha, Walid Jawabreh and Samir Muhammad Saleh.

Those injured were taken to the same hospital for treatment.
