BETHLEHEM (Ma’an) -- Israeli forces detained 19 Palestinians, including four minors, during overnight raids in the occupied West Bank between Sunday and Monday, according to the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS).

PPS released a statement saying that five Palestinians, including one minor, were detained from the central West Bank district of Ramallah, while a minor was also detained from the Jerusalem district.

In the northern West Bank, PPS reported that Israeli forces detained four Palestinians, including two minors, from the Qalqiliya district, two Palestinians from Tulkarem, one from Nablus, and one from Jenin.

In the southern West Bank, Israeli forces detained four Palestinians from Hebron and one from Bethlehem.

The Israeli army said in a statement that Israeli forces detained 18 Palestinians, confiscated money, and found weapons during overnight raids

Israeli military raids into Palestinian cities, towns, and refugee camps are a near daily occurrence.

According to PPS, since US President Donald Trump’s announcement recognizing Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, Israeli forces have detained 450 Palestinians, including 138 minors, and nine women.

Prisoners rights group Addameer recorded 6,198 Palestinians were detained by Israel as of October. The group has estimated that some 40 percent of Palestinian men will be detained by Israel at some point in their lives.
