Israeli forces detain 17 Palestinains overnight from West Bank, East Jerusalem

BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces detained at least 17 Palestinians overnight between Monday and Tuesday in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem, according to Palestinian and Israeli sources.

In the northern West Bank district of Nablus, locals told Ma’an that Israeli forces detained former prisoner Saleh Amer from the town of Kafr Qalil, and brothers Baraa and Mahmoud Ali Assideh from the Tel village.

Meanwhile, locals in Tel and a nearby village told Ma’an that Israeli forces briefly held several former prisoners for interrogation in the area.

In occupied East Jerusalem, Israeli forces detained five Palestinians, according to locals.

In the Shufat Refugee camp, Israeli forces detained three Palestinians. They were identified as Nizar Muhammad Ali, Ammar Abu al-Saad, and Zaki Muhammad Ali.

Another resident of the camp, identified as Ahmad al-Rajabi, was detained by israeli forces while he was walking on Salah al-Din Street near the Old City late Monday night.

Also on Monday night, Israeli forces detained Moussa Jamal Qadamani after shooting and injuring him with live fire during clashes in the al-Suwwana neighborhood of East Jerusalem. Qadamani was taken to the Shaare Zedek Medical Center.

In the southern West Bank city of Bethlehem, Israeli forces detained one Palestinian Ahmad Abed al-Salam Zaoul.

Israeli soldiers raided the Husan village in western Bethlehem and raided several houses in the area. No detentions were reported.

Seven Palestinians were detained from the city Hebron in the southern West Bank. They were identified as Daoud al-Hroub, Said Jamjoum, Kamel Jamjoum, Anwar Awad, Muntasser al-Zaaqiq, Ahmad Sleibi and Raed Rasmi al-Shawamra.

An Israeli army spokesperson told Ma’an that 12 Palestinians were detained overnight.

Prisoners rights group Addameer recorded 6,198 Palestinians were detained by Israel as of October. The group has estimated that some 40 percent of Palestinian men will be detained by Israel at some point in their lives.
