19 Palestinians detained by Israeli forces in overnight raids

NABLUS (Ma'an) -- At least 19 Palestinians were detained by Israeli forces overnight between Sunday and Monday across the occupied West Bank, according to local sources.

In the northern West Bank district of Jenin, locals told Ma’an that Israeli forces detained Sheikh Khader Adnan, a leader of the Islamic Jihad movement, after raiding his home in the Arraba town in southern Jenin.

Palestinian security sources told Ma'an that Israeli forces raided Nablus, Tulkarem and Salfit in the northern West Bank, searched several homes and detained seven Palestinians.

In Nablus, sources identified the detainees as former prisoner Muhammad Saleh Hamdan from the al-Ain refugee camp , former prisoner Assem Ishtayyeh from the Tel village, Baraa Izheiman, Bahaa Ghassan Thuqan, and Bashir Ziyadeh from the Madama village.

In Tulkarem, former prisoner Sulma Badran, from Deir al-Ghusun was detained, while former prisoner Zuheir Hussein was detained from Salfit.

In the southern West Bank district of Bethlehem, Israeli forces detained two Palestinians.

They were identified as Khalil Taha Taqatqa, 24, from the Beit Fajjar town, and Abdullah Atta al-Hreimi, 18, from the Wadi Maali street in central Bethlehem city.

Prisoners rights group Addameer recorded 6,198 Palestinians were detained by Israel as of October. The group has estimated that some 40 percent of Palestinian men will be detained by Israel at some point in their lives.
