BETHLEHEM (Ma’an) -- Al-Quds University in the central occupied West Bank district of Jerusalem celebrated on Friday the eighth commencement of its Joint Masters of European Studies program, in partnership with Heinrich Heine University in Dusseldorf, Germany.

The graduate program, which was established in 2009 as a result of a bilateral partnership between the two institutions, celebrated the commencement in Dusseldorf.

According to a statement from the university, students in the program learn about European history, politics, culture, economy and government.

“They leave as prepared professionals capable of navigating issues that relate to the European Union, and ready to provide nuanced analysis and advice to their future employers on matters that pertain to the Old Continent.”

Graduates of previous classes have, according to the university, landed jobs both in the public and privates sectors, with several having been recruited by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as diplomats working within the European desk, while others have been hired by international organizations, and NGOs.
