Israeli bulldozers raze lands in northern Gaza Strip

Sept. 7, 2016 12:18 P.M. (Updated: Sept. 7, 2016 12:18 P.M.)
GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- Several Israeli bulldozers reportedly entered the Gaza Strip and leveled lands early Wednesday morning.

Palestinian security sources told Ma'an that four military D( bulldozers and an excavator entered into the eastern al-Qarrara town in northern Khan Younis, approxiamately 10 meters into the border line.

The bulldozers and excavator razed and leveled lands.

No shootings were reported.

An Israeli army spokesperson said she was looking into reports.

Israeli military incursions inside the besieged Gaza Strip and near the “buffer zone" which lies on both land and sea sides of Gaza, have long been a near-daily occurrence.

Palestinians who work near the unilaterally declared “buffer zone” between the Palestinian enclave and Israel often come under fire from military forces, as the Israeli military has not made clear the precise area of the designated zone.

The practice has in effect destroyed much of the agricultural sector of the blockaded coastal enclave.
