Dec. 20, 2015 3:03 P.M. (Updated: Dec. 21, 2015 2:12 P.M.)

BETHLEHEM (Ma’an) -- A British tourist was stabbed by a Palestinian on Sunday near the Mazmouria military checkpoint east of Beit Sahour in the Bethlehem district of the occupied West Bank.

Israeli police said the incident was criminally-motivated and took place due to a financial dispute between the tourist and a Palestinian man.

The tourist sustained moderate injuries and the attacker was identified and expected to be detained, police added.
