GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- Israeli airstrikes on the southern and central Gaza Strip killed seven people on Thursday, medics said, as an operation against militants in the territory entered its third day.
The first strike hit a coffee shop in the city of Khan Yunis, emergency services spokesman Ashraf al-Qidra told AFP, saying six men were killed and at least 15 other people wounded.
The second, in Nusseirat refugee camp in central Gaza, on the home of Raed Shalat, killed him and wounded several others, Qidra said.
On Wednesday, 29 Palestinians were killed in Israel's operation in the most serious violence in Gaza since 2012.
Tuesday's toll was 21, bringing the total number of dead to 57.
The dead include at least seven women and 14 children, according to an AFP count based on medical reports.
