BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- Israel's deputy defense minister on Thursday said there will never be a Palestinian state and that Palestinians will be governed by Jordan.

"The Jewish people are not settlers in the West Bank but Israel will make the Palestinians settlers and Jordan will be the one taking control over Palestinians and that's it," Danny Danon told Israel's Channel 1.

Asked about the upcoming visit of US Secretary of State John Kerry, who is trying to restart negotiations for a two-state solution, the Knesset member said there would never be a Palestinian state, whether Kerry visited or not.

Israel will control the empty land in the West Bank and turn Palestinian population centers into Jewish settlements, Danon said.

He added that the Israeli government and the Knesset shared his opinions, even if they did not admit it publicly.

Ahmad Tibi, a Palestinian member of the Knesset, was asked to respond to Danon's remarks.

Tibi told Channel 1 that Danon was the most honest extremist in Israeli premier Benjamin Netanyahu's government as he did not hide Israel's plans.

Meanwhile, MK Ofer Shelah warned that Israel was becoming like South Africa under apartheid. He said settlements in the West Bank were an obstacle to peace, and that "the occupation corrupts Israeli society."

He is telling the truth that Israeli govt policy is not to accept a Palestinian state and that they are not bold enough to admit. Yet Bibi and other members say they want a two state solution. Surely US must be aware of Israel's view or are they SO thick not to realise what Israeli govt's true motive aqnd what they are up to. US considers itself a so called super power who portray that they know everything going on in the world. But they don't seem to have a clue about Israel or so they say.

If that is what the bloodthirsty Zionists plan,This is and will be the destruction of the Israeli Zionism existence in all over historic Palestine, the Moslem world will not allow that this "Jewish dream"happens, and it will lead to war in which much blood be shed. They don't have the right to be there on no Inches of Palestine. Finally, we do not live in the time of the prophets thousands of years ago,Palestine was and will never belong to those.............

Palestinians do not need a state and they never wanted a state of their own: they did not want it in 1947, they did not even try to establish it in 20 years between 1948 and 1967, they walked away from negotiations and establishing a state in 2000 and 2008. The only thing which palestinians want is to destroy Israel and kill the Jews. Beyond that it does not matter for them who are the rulers - Turks or Jordanians or Egyptians. There are no such things as palestinian people or palestinian state.

I am the first to recognize we have 2 peoples who are destined to live together. as I travel , this concept is not unlike Ireland and other places, this realization calls for the political horizon; and this is the expectation of equality for both sides. In my most honest conversations, all parties really agree to this concept. To get there, they need the leaders to back away extremist positions for what the term coined is accomodations. also, what the Nationalist republicans had to do.

@ EE/UK And the Jews didn't even try to create an Israeli State before the Holocaust. Now "Palestinians will be govern by Jordan". Which Palestinians I ask. The one in the west bank or the one in Gaza. How in the world Jordan going to control the Palestinians in Gaza?. Its impossible. I believe Israel is stuck in something they started and can't get out of it by building settlements, putting settlers and annexing land. I think Israel has more of a dilemma than the Palestinians.

# 2 - where d you get your reading matter from? Jordan did not "start"the 1967 war - Israel bombed Egypt and that started the war. In fact Israel used to boast abut the cleverness of their pre-emptive strike" but now down play that, saying the war was started by others. Talk about re-writing history.

What an arrogant and ignorant and foolish man is Danny Danon. Saying that Jewish people are not settlers in the West Bank (they believe their own lies). He further added that the Palestinians will become the settlers in West Bank. And Jordan will control them. But he has let the cat out of the bag, saying that Israel government and Knesset agree with him. I do not doubt that for one second) BUT KNOW THIS GOD'S JUDGEMENT IS ALREADY ON THEIR HEADS. HE WAITS FOR HIS DAY TO COME. BYE BYE ZIONISTS.

@5 so much crap! shame on you. Are you sitting on your synapses , intellect ? Palestinians do not need a State they have a State that is occupied by Zionists terror since 65 years 1948,1967,2000,2008 were the years of the genocidal war crimes on the Palestinians, and the slow genocide is still going on every day be IDF and the alleged only"democratic"settlers government in the ME, the so called"Israel" I wish you a day as a day for the Palestinians that opens your eyes for the truth.

It is good this man has spoken of this publicly on more than once. There is no amount of different statement PM can make, actions show Danon telling it honestly. @7) James, I think you are right, but Israel is so arrogant, maybe only solution is ICC & international sanctions like S. Africa.
