BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces demolished a two-story Palestinian home in East Jerusalem on Tuesday, making 30 people homeless, official news agency Wafa reported.

Muhammad Castero, 52, a resident of the building, told Wafa that Israel issued a demolition order for the home 50 days ago on the pretext that it was built without a permit.

"We are refugees now, we don't have any shelter. Where should we, our children and elderly people go after our house was demolished?" he said.

Four families lived in the Beit Hanina home, which was constructed six years ago. The families had hired a lawyer to prevent the demolition.

"This is our land and we will not leave it despite the practices of the occupation," Castero added.

Last week, Israeli forces delivered demolition notices to 200 Palestinian families in Fuheidat neighborhood east of Anata village in northeast Jerusalem, residents said.

A day earlier, Israel demolished at least four buildings and a sewage network in the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Silwan.

Israeli forces demolished 412 housing units in East Jerusalem between 2004-2012, according to B'Tselem, leaving 1,636 Palestinians homeless.

Palestinian homes are usually demolished under the pretext of not having a building permit. Figures from Israeli NGO Bimkom show that 95 percent of Palestinian applications for a building permit are rejected.

Rights groups say that Israel implements a series of discriminatory practices in housing, planning, residency rights and budget allocation in East Jerusalem, with the aim of reducing the number of Palestinians living in the city.

Israel captured East Jerusalem in 1967 and later annexed it in a move never recognized by the international community.

why is Jewish money more important to many politicians than this heartbreaking illegal seizure of land?

It IS sickening when we do this and we KNOW it just keeps poisoning the hatred of the Palestinians towards us but there is nothing I can say to offer comfort or hope. I also personally hate Palestinian home and property destruction. Yes, we do thwart ANY Palestinian building in Jerusalem and DO make it nearly impossible for them to get building permits because we DON'T want any Palestinian improvements there to happen. As I've said, I'm 100% honest: We DO want the Palestinians to (cont.)

leave Jerusalem. We know they are hell-bent on staying there as long as they can ... in believing some day the eastern half of Jerusalem will become the capital of the State of Palestine that WE will recognize. (Believe me ... you know what I personally want to see demolished as soon as possible ??? ... The damn separation wall ... not just in Jerusalem but the whole damn, stinking wall everywhere ... You think only the Palestinians hate that damn wall over here ??? ... THINK again.) We(cont.)

DO have Big Plans for more Jerusalem development. We know when the world sees us killing Palestinian homes and property in Jerusalem over and over it curses and cusses us like hell. All that and whatever else is done to us [U.N./Quartet/EU sanctions; suicide bombers (keeping them out is basically all that damn separation wall has been good for); ICC prosecutions; U.N. expulsion; etc.] will not change us.

Some times I wish the United Nations won't exist, honestly. The concept is good, but the way they manage the nations issues is a double standard. Why they allow Israel to get away with murder? How come nobody ever said anything about the nuclear weapons that Israel carry? The whole organization is an hypocrisy. I will vote for a Palestinian state but Israel will still co=ntinued with their aggression.

This is bullying by a racist apartheid regime that should not go unpunished. Time to take these war criminals to The Hague International Criminal Court.

9- Who so ever curses His people, will be cursed by the Creator Himself, and if you have doubts, just look at the cursed lives that Palestinians lead, as a result of their cursing Jews for decades, and 10- "The war criminals to take to the Hague International Criminal Court" are the Islamic (Jihad, Hezbollah, Hamas, PFLP, PRC, etc.) Militants, that have literally targetted civilians many 1,000s of times, while Israeli strikes, though deadly, are purely defensive !!

# 12 - well, on that basis, Israelis who regularly chant "death to Arabs" or "kill Arabs" will suffer the same fate? Or are their actions "purely defensive"?

Again, commendations to MAAN for covering these stories. I hope for sake of exposing same, it will maintain these in an archieve that can be seen by link. BAZS.NET has been created to try and wakeup USA, GB - taxpayers that support this atrocity done in Name of God as so-called final return of Israel.. IT IS NOT, it is a deception. BAZS.NET shows this clearly from Bible. We ask for letters to Congress to stop tax support & aid. This story here is at (bazs.net/Rev13.htm) See para. "In fact,...

Those on both sides have reason to hate the other, but
- I lived in Israel for 6 years, and never once heard even one Israeli chanting "death to Arabs" or "kill Arabs," and
- I doubt anyone who lived 6 years in Palestinian areas could honestly make the same claim, and
- If Palestinian militants ever stop planning to targeting or abduct Israeli civilians, Israel's "purely defensive" strikes would stop too !!!

-a- Hamas did exactly the same thing in Gaza, when Palestinians ignored the Gaza regulations, and built without getting the required permits, so
-b- Why "is this outrageous" for Israel to respond the same way, to unpermitted construction (whether Arab or Jew), and
-c- if either you or I built a home here in the USA, without getting the required permits, the results would probably be same !!!

You are right Robert. Anywhere you will build a house without a permit it will be in court and then taken down. Why are stupid people always on the side of the Palestinians when they "fake" cry? I cannot believe this even Israelis are against the wall. IT PROTECTS YOU DUMB FOOLS.
