BETHLEHEM (Ma’an) -- Schools in the West Bank will close this week due to severe weather conditions, a Palestinian education official announced on Monday.
On Tuesday, classes are cancelled for first to fourth-graders, and on Wednesday all classes are suspended, deputy of minister of education Muhmmad Abu Zaid.
School will be back in session on Saturday as exams are scheduled, he said.
The West Bank was hit by flooding and lightning overnight Sunday and Monday, causing extensive damage to residential properties. but no injuries.
Further stormy weather, and possibly snow, is forecast for later in the week.
