Palestinian youth shot, killed by Israeli forces near Jericho

JERICHO (Ma'an) -- A 22-year-old Palestinian was shot and killed by Israeli forces, on predawn Sunday, while passing an Israeli checkpoint on road 90, near the occupied West Bank city of Jericho.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health identified the Palestinian as Salameh Salah Kaabneh, 22, was shot and killed as he attempted to pass an Israeli checkpoint near Jericho City.

According to Hebrew-language news outlets, Israeli forces opened fire towards Kaabneh after he allegedly refused to pullover the vehicle at the checkpoint and attempted to pass through.

Sources added that another two Palestinian youths were present in the vehicle with Kaabneh, however, fled the scene immediately.

No injuries were reported among Israeli soldiers.
