Feb. 8, 2019 10:49 A.M. (Updated: Feb. 9, 2019 3:29 P.M.)
JERUSALEM (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces attempted to raid a mosque in the Issawiya neighborhood of occupied East Jerusalem, on Friday morning.

Member of a local follow-up committee, Muhammad Abu al-Hummos, said that Israeli forces attempted to raid the mosque in order to confiscate picture of, Fares Baroud, a Palestinian prisoner who died inside Israeli prisons on Wednesday, and raised Palestinian flag.

Israeli forces were deployed in the area surrounding the mosque.

Abu al-Hummos added that Israeli soldiers then went up the outer walls of the mosque, without going inside the mosque, and eventually took down the picture and flag.
