Jan. 22, 2019 10:54 A.M. (Updated: Jan. 23, 2019 2:36 P.M.)
BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- A 36-year-old Palestinian was shot and killed by Israeli forces, on late Monday, at the Huwwara checkpoint, south of the northern occupied West Bank district of Nablus.

According to Hebrew-language news outlets, the Palestinian, who was identified as Muhammad Fawzi Adwi, 36, arrived at the Huwwara checkpoint and began to allegedly sprint towards Israeli soldiers.

Sources added that Israeli forces shot and killed Adwi for allegedly attempting to carry out a stabbing attack.

Sources also confirmed that there were no injuries reported among Israeli forces.

It is noteworthy that eyewitnesses have said that in a number of cases, Israeli security forces planted knives on slain or imprisoned Palestinians to claim that they were acting in self-defense during a stabbing attack.
