In video - Israeli forces detain youth after cutting off part of security fence

RAMALLAH (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces detained a 17-year-old Palestinian after he reportedly cut off part of the Israeli military fence separating the Beit Surik village, near Ramallah in the central West Bank, from several Israeli settlements built on the village's lands, on Friday morning.

Israel had confiscated large areas of the village's lands since its occupation in 1967, on which it built several illegal settlements including Har Adar, Ramot and Mevaseret Tzion.

The youth had reportedly also set fire surrounding the fence.
