Israeli forces seals off entrance to Ramallah-area village

RAMALLAH (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces sealed off the Deir Abu Mashal village, northwest of the central occupied West Bank district of Ramallah, on Thursday.

The mayor of the Deir Abu Mashal, Fawwaz al-Barghouthi, said that Israeli forces continue to seal off the village daily for over a month now.

Al-Barghouthi added that Israel’s systematic sanctions and collective punishments have been practiced on a daily basis against the residents of the village without any exceptions.

Al-Barghouthi pointed out that the seal off prevents Palestinian patients from accessing hospitals, as well as teachers and labor workers who cannot reach work outside the village.

He called on international human rights organizations to intervene into this “tragedy” that 4,500 Palestinians have to face on the daily.
