Israel prevents entry of Palestinian workers to Barkan

Oct. 8, 2018 3:12 P.M. (Updated: Oct. 10, 2018 11:53 A.M.)
SALFIT (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces prevented the arrival of hundreds of Palestinian workers to work, on Monday, in the Barkan industrial area, near the illegal Israeli settlement of Ariel near Salfit City, in the northern occupied West Bank, where a shooting attack was carried out, killing two Israeli settlers.

About 3,300 Palestinian workers arrived to their workplaces in the Barkan industrial area to find large numbers of Israeli forces deployed at the entrances of the factories and many were prevented from entry to the factories due to intensive searches.

These procedures followed after a Palestinian carried out a shooting attack, during which he entered one of the offices in Barkan and shot at three Israeli settlers, of whom two were later pronounced dead, and the third suffered severe injuries.

Israeli forces and police continued to conduct searches to find the Palestinian, who was identified as 23-year-old Ashraf Naalwa.
