GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- One Palestinian was injured with a live bullet by Israeli forces at the eastern borders of the Gaza Strip during the "Great March of Return" protests on Friday.

A Ma'an reporter said that a Palestinian was injured in the leg at the return camps of eastern Gaza City.

Dozens of other Palestinians suffered tear-gas inhalation as Israeli forces heavily fired tear-gas bombs at protesters.

Witnesses told a Ma'an reporter in Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip that Israeli forces opened live fire at protesters.

The "Great March of Return" protests were launched by thousands of Palestinian civilians in Gaza -- which has suffered from a decade-long Israeli siege -- who took to the borders to demand their right of return as refugees to their original homelands, now in present-day Israel.
