Palestinian fisherman killed by Egyptian naval forces

GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- A Palestinian fisherman was killed on Saturday morning around dawn by the Egyptian navy off the coast of the southern Gaza Strip.

Spokesperson of the Gaza Ministry of Health Ashraf al-Qidra said in a statement that Abdullah Ramadan Zeidan, 33, was shot by the Egyptian navy with live ammunition to the chest.

The circumstances of Zeidan’s death, specifically what prompted Egyptian authorities to fire at him, remained unknown.
