BETHLEHEM (Ma’an) -- Israeli forces violently assaulted three Palestinians in the southern occupied West Bank district of Hebron on Tuesday, according to Palestinian sources.

Palestinian news agency Wafa spoke with Rateb Jabour, who monitors Israeli activities in the southern West Bank, about the incident. Jabour said that Israeli soldiers had raided the village of Jawaya in the Masafer Yatta area of Hebron and assaulted three village residents.

The residents sustained “serious bruises” on their bodies and were transferred to a medical clinic for treatment, Jabour said.

An Israeli army spokesperson told Ma’an she would look into reports on the incident.

Israeli raids in Palestinian towns, villages, and refugee camps are a daily occurrence in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, with a biweekly average of 85 search and detention raids carried out thus far in 2017, according to UN documentation.
