QALQILIYA (Ma'an) -- A Palestinian man was shot dead in front of his shop in Qalqiliya city in the northwestern occupied West Bank, according to Palestinian police.

Police spokesman Luay Irzeiqat identified the victim 35-year-old Wadea Mardawi from the village of Habla west of Qalqiliya.

He told Ma'an that police in Qalqiliya were alerted to a drive-by shooting at a shop in Qalqiliya. A police force rushed to the scene and found a man with critical gunshot wounds. He was evacuated to hospital where doctors announced his death upon arrival.
