BETHLEHEM (Ma’an) -- A projectile landed in southern Israel on Tuesday evening, causing no injuries.

An Israeli army spokesperson told Ma’an that a projectile landed in an open area in the Hof Ashkelon regional council, adding that army forces were on the scene.

The spokesperson could not immediately confirm whether the unspecified projectile had been fired from the besieged Gaza Strip.

However, they denied Israeli media reports that the army had shelled Gaza later that evening.
