Hamas fighter accidentally drowns off Gaza coast

GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- A member of the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades -- the Hamas movement's military wing -- drowned off the coast of the southern besieged Gaza Strip on Saturday morning.

The group released a statement announcing the death of 23-year-old Muhammad Abd al-Hamid Shubeir, who they said had drowned off the coast of Khan Yunis during a family outing.
