JENIN (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces detained a mother of two Palestinians prisoners from the Jenin district of the northern occupied West Bank on Wednesday as she was visiting her sons at Israel’s Gilboa prison.

According to the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS), Israeli forces had detained Hanaa Tawfiq Hamadeh while she was visiting her two imprisoned sons in Israel’s Gilboa prison.

Her two sons Udayy and Qusai were sentenced to two years and two-and-a-half years in prison, respectively.

PPS did not include additional details on the incident.

A spokesperson for Israel Prison Service (IPS) was not immediately available for comment.

According to prisoners’ rights group Addameer, 6,200 Palestinians were held in Israeli prison as of May, 490 of whom were being held without charge or trial, while 56 were women.

A joint report report released by a number of Palestinian rights groups on Sunday pointed out that Israeli forces detained a total of 388 Palestinians, including 70 minors and 13 women, across the occupied Palestinian territory during the month of June.
