GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- The body of a Palestinian man was found near a bridge in the Wadi Gaza area between Nuseirat refugee camp and the village of al-Mighraqa in the central Gaza Strip, Gaza police told Ma'an.

Police spokesman Ayman al-Batneiji said that the body of 45-year-old Tariq Ibrahim al-Sharif from al-Zahraa city in central Gaza was found by a passerby. The body was taken to the al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah.

The spokesman said that the victim was shot in the head and that a handgun was found near his feet, and provided no other details about the circumstances of the death or whether or not an investigation had been opened.
