SALFIT (Ma’an) -- A 15-year-old Palestinian boy was found hanged to death in his room in the village of Kifl Haris, in the central occupied West Bank district of Salfit.

Palestinian Police Spokesman Luay Irzeiqat said in a statement Thursday that Palestinian police rushed to the house to find the boy dead on the scene.

Police informed Palestinian general prosecution of the incident, after which time the prosecution decided to send the boy’s body for an autopsy at the Institute of Forensic Medicine at al-Quds University in the Jerusalem-area town of Abu Dis, in order to “uncover the cause of death and circumstances of the incident.”

The identity of the boy remained unknown.
