Video: Islamic Jihad warns Israel not to 'test the resistance'

GAZA CITY (MA'an) -- The al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad movement, sent a video message to Israel on Monday, warning Israeli leaders not to “test the resistance.”

The video, which is titled “Do not test the resistance,” shows Islamic Jihad fighters preparing to shoot Nitzan Alon, an Israeli army general, while other fighters also work on setting up missiles and traveling through tunnels constructed in the besieged Gaza Strip and into Israel.

Hamas, the de facto leading party of Gaza, is also known to release videos and statements to the public warning Israel of possible retaliation for its policies in the occupied Palestinian territory.

The Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of the Hamas movement, released a statement earlier this month warning Israeli authorities that it had 24 hours to respond to the demands of the some 1,300 Palestinians who are still on hunger strike in Israeli prisons, or else Israel would “pay for each day they ignore the prisoners’ demands.”

However, like other public threats against Israeli authorities made by Hamas and other groups in the besieged Gaza Strip, no retaliation measures were ever reported to be taken by the Hamas movement related to the hunger strike, which has continued into its 30th consecutive day on Tuesday with Israel yet to respond to any of the prisoners' demands.
