NABLUS (Ma’an) -- Israeli forces closed a road with dirt mounds and cement blocks near the Palestinian village of Osarin in the northern occupied West Bank district of Nablus on Wednesday, residents said.

Locals told Ma’an that an Israeli military bulldozer escorted by several Israeli military vehicles closed the junction leading to Osarin completely and banned residents from passing through until further notice.

An Israeli army spokesperson told Ma’an that they were looking into the reports.

Palestinian communities are routinely subjected to arbitrary road closures by Israeli military forces for purported "security reasons," an act which rights groups have denounced as amounting to collective punishment.
