2 Palestinians injured after clashes erupt with Israeli forces north of Ramallah

March 27, 2017 11:29 A.M. (Updated: March 27, 2017 3:04 P.M.)
RAMALLAH (Ma’an) -- Two Palestinians were shot and lightly injured by rubber-coated steel bullets on Monday morning, after violent clashes erupted between Israeli forces and Palestinian youth at Israel's Atara military checkpoint north of Ramallah in the central occupied West Bank.

The two were taken to the Palestine Medical Complex, where their injuries were described as minor.

An Israeli army spokesperson told Ma'an they were looking into the reports.

Israeli raids in Palestinian towns, villages, and refugee camps are a daily occurrence in the occupied West Bank. Due to the typically aggressive nature of the raids, clashes often erupt between local Palestinian youth who throw stones and are met in response with live fire, rubber-coated steel bullets, and tear gas -- often resulting in serious, sometimes fatal, injuries.
