Palestinian toddler dies of wounds sustained in Negev house fire

NEGEV (Ma’an) -- A three year-old Palestinian citizen of Israel died in a Beersheba hospital after sustaining serious wounds when a fire broke out in a house in the Negev town of Kasifa on Thursday morning.

The spokesperson of Israel’s firefighting authority in that Negev said that crews rushed to the house and extinguished the fire.

Magen David Adom medic Amir Abu Siyam said that the three year-old boy suffered from severe smoke inhalation and burns all over his body.

A spokesperson of the Soroka hospital confirmed that doctors’ attempts to save the child’s life had failed, leading them to pronounce him dead at the hospital.
