JERICHO (Ma'an) -- A five-year-old child from the village of al-Mughayyir east of Ramallah in the central occupied West Bank was killed in a traffic accident on Tuesday.

Palestinian police spokesman Luay Irzeiqat said in a statement that Amir Abd al-Hafith Abu Alia was killed in a collision between a private car and a light truck on al-Muarrajat road north of Jericho. Al-Muarrajat is a notoriously dangerous and curved route between Ramallah and Jericho.

Five other people were injured in the accident.
