QALQILIYA (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces detained two Palestinian youths during a raid on the Azzun village in eastern Qalqiliya in the northern occupied West Bank early Thursday evening.

Locals told Ma’an that Israeli forces raided Azzun and searched several homes before detaining Hassan Abu Haniyeh and Zayid Ali Adwan.

Earlier on Thursday
, reports emerged that Israeli forces were searching for a person suspected of having fired at a vehicle near the village of Azzun.

An Israeli army spokesperson told Ma’an that earlier on Thursday a “Palestinian suspect” fired towards a passing vehicle near Azzun, and that Israeli forces were looking for the him after having found a bullet cartridge in the area.

The spokesperson said no injuries were reported, but could not immediately confirm what type of vehicle was targeting in the reported shooting.

Hebrew-language Israeli media initially reported that a settler’s car was shot at, before later saying that it was an army vehicle.
