Israeli forces looking for suspected shooter in northern West Bank

Jan. 26, 2017 4:49 P.M. (Updated: Jan. 26, 2017 4:49 P.M.)
BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces were searching for a person suspected of having fired at a vehicle near the village of Azzun in the occupied West Bank district of Qalqiliya on Thursday.

An Israeli army spokesperson told Ma’an that earlier on Thursday a “Palestinian suspect” fired towards a passing vehicle near Azzun, and that Israeli forces were looking for the suspect after having found a bullet cartridge in the area.

The spokesperson said no injuries were reported, but could not immediately confirm what type of vehicle was targeting in the reported shooting.

Hebrew-language Israeli media initially reported that a settler’s car was shot at, before later saying that it was an army vehicle.
