JERUSALEM (Ma’an) -- Clashes erupted between Israeli forces and Palestinian youths during a detention raid in the Shufat refugee camp in the Jerusalem district of the occupied West Bank on Wednesday afternoon.

A spokesperson for the Fatah movement in Shufat, Thaer al-Fasfous, said that Israeli forces raided the camp looking for Palestinians suspected of having entered Israel without permits, detaining ten residents, including two dentists.

Al-Fasfous said that he, like a number of other Palestinians, was briefly detained during the raid and released after his ID was checked.

Clashes broke out during the raid for more than two hours, with Israeli forces reportedly firing tear gas and rubber-coated steel bullets at youth.
