Police spokesman injured during family brawl in Gaza City

AZA CITY (Ma'an) – Police spokesman in the Gaza Strip Ayman al-Batneiji was stabbed and wounded on Saturday evening while police attempted to disperse a family brawl in the al-Shujaiyya neighborhood in Gaza City, the Hamas-run Ministry of Interior in Gaza said in a statement.

Al-Batneiji was stabbed in the chest. Medical sources in the coastal enclave said al-Batneiji sustained moderate wounds, confirming that he was in a stable condition.

Police detectives said they were investigating the incident.
