RAMALLAH (Ma'an) -- Dozens of Palestinian football players and fans suffered from tear gas inhalation on Friday after Israeli forces fired tear gas at crowds attending a football match at Faisal al-Husseini Stadium in the village of al-Ram in the occupied West Bank’s Jerusalem district

Local sources told Ma’an that Israeli forces fired the tear gas at the stadium as it was filled with some 1,200 fans attending a match between al-Thahiriyah and Shabab Balata in the Abu Ammar Cup.

Medics at the stadium treated the injured at the scene, locals said.

An Israeli army spokesperson told Ma’an she would look into reports on the incident.
