Israeli forces shoot, injure Palestinian man at Gaza border crossing

GAZA (Ma’an) -- A Palestinian man was reportedly shot and injured by Israeli forces near a border crossing in the northern Gaza Strip, medics told Ma’an.

The medical sources said that the 30-year-old Palestinian was injured after being shot in the foot at the Erez crossing between the besieged Palestinian enclave and Israel, giving no further information on the incident.

They added that the man was taken to the Indonesian hospital and was in moderate condition.

An Israeli army spokesperson told Ma’an that they were unaware of the incident and were looking into the reports.

According to UN documentation, Israeli forces have injured more than 2,600 Palestinians since the beginning of 2016, 162 of whom in the besieged Gaza Strip.
