HEBRON (Ma'an) -- A Fatah member in Hebron’s Yatta city was injured Thursday night after unknown assailants opened live fire on the official.

Medical sources told Ma’an that Rafat al-Adra was taken to the al-Ahli Hospital for treatment after being targeted by the assailants following a meeting and ceremony in preparation for municipal elections in Yatta, set to be held October 8.

Al-Adra was reported as being in moderate condition.

Palestinian security forces have reportedly opened an investigation into the incident.
