JENIN (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces raided and searched the house of a wanted Palestinian early Friday in the village of Bir al-Basha in the northern occupied West Bank district of Jenin, locals told Ma'an.

Israeli forces raided the village and searched the home of Uday Taysir Ghawadreh, wanted by Israeli authorities, reportedly assaulting Ghawadreh’s father and children during the incident, destroying the furniture in the house, and threatening his family that Ghawadreh would be assassinated if he didn’t turn himself in, locals said.

Ghawadreh has been wanted by Israeli authorities for nearly a month and has been detained several times in the past.

Israeli forces have conducted a weekly average of 81 search and detention operations across the occupied territory since the beginning of the year, with 135 raids being carried just in the previous week, according to UN documentation.
