21-year-old Palestinian detained at Allenby Bridge

BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces on Saturday detained a Palestinian man from the Duheisha refugee camp in the occupied West Bank district of Bethlehem, as he attempted to cross the Allenby Bridge between the West Bank and Jordan, according to Palestinian sources.

A Palestinian security source told the PA-owned Wafa News Agency that Israeli forces detained Said Iyad Hunayhin, 21, as he was on his way to Jordan.

An Israeli army spokesperson told Ma’an she would look into reports.

Israeli forces routinely detain Palestinians at the crossing, as Palestinians must cross the border to access the Amman International Airport in order to travel abroad.
