Israeli settler reportedly injured in rock-throwing incident

RAMALLAH (Ma'an) -- An Israeli settler was reportedly injured by rocks thrown at him near the illegal Beit El settlement in the central occupied West Bank on Wednesday.

The settler was taken in an ambulance for treatment, while Israeli forces rushed to the area in search of rock throwers.

According to a Ma’an reporter, Israeli forces closed the nearby al-Mahkama checkpoint.

An Israeli army spokesperson said she was looking into the reports.

Earlier on Wednesday, Israeli media reported that shots were fired at an Israeli settler’s vehicle near the Zaatara checkpoint in the northern West Bank district of Nablus.

Sources said that no injuries were reported in the incident, while Israeli forces were searching the area and setting up flying checkpoints.

An Israeli army spokesperson did not have any updates on the incident on Wednesday evening.
