Gaza infant dies reportedly as result of cold weather

March 29, 2016 11:25 A.M. (Updated: March 29, 2016 11:26 A.M.)
GAZA CITY (Ma’an) -- An infant died in the southern Gaza Strip city of Khan Yunis reportedly as a result of cold weather that swept the area over the past few days, Gaza's Ministry of Health said.

Ministry spokesman Ashraf al-Qidra identified the infant as two-and-a-half-old Hamada Khalid Dardisi from al-Zanna neighborhood.

Al-Qidra confirmed that the infant died as a result of extreme cold, adding that his twin sister was in critical condition due to the lack of “adequate heating” in the mobile home their family was forced to live in after their house was destroyed in the last Israeli military offensive.
