Fire erupts in Jerusalem prison for Palestinian detainees

March 3, 2016 3:14 P.M. (Updated: March 4, 2016 7:51 P.M.)
BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- A fire erupted on Thursday in the ceiling of the Russian compound detention center in west Jerusalem, filling cells with smoke before prisoners were evacuated, local sources said.

Locals said prisoners were evacuted from the affected section of the prison, as crews put out the fire and worked on clean up.

After "several hours" prisoners were brought back to their cells, locals said.

No injuries were reported.
