HEBRON (Ma’an) -- Israeli forces detained at least 33 Palestinians overnight Wednesday during raids across the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem, an Israeli army spokesperson told Ma'an.

Locals were able to identify at least 25 of those detained.

In the southern occupied West Bank district of Hebron, Israeli forces detained six Palestinians identified by locals as Ehab al-Qawasmi, Abdul-Hadi Abu Eisha, Mustafa al-Bustanji, Anas Saed, Tamer Yaghmour and Mahmoud al-Zareer.

In Hebron's al-Majd village, Israeli forces raided the home of Mamdouh Amr and took measurements for a future punitive home demolition. Amr was shot and injured on Wednesday after allegedly attempting to stab an Israeli soldier, resulting in the death of the soldier, as Israeli forces hit the Israeli with friendly fire.

Just north of Hebron, in the Bethlehem district, Israeli forces detained one man identified as Omar Salah.

In Bethlehem's Nahalin village, Israeli forces summonsed Ibrahim Najajrah and Nour Shakarna to meet the Israeli intelligence at a later date.

In the central occupied West Bank district of Ramallah, Israeli forces detained two Palestinians identified as Mujahed Khader al-Rimawi and Muhammad Fahmi Sbeih.

Four more Palestinians were detained in occupied East Jerusalem, identified as Hassan Mahmoud al-Khatib, Muhammad Mahmoud al-Khatib, Ali Yasser al-Khatib, and Muhammad Khalil Salah ad-Din

In the northern occupied West Bank district of Nablus, Israeli forces detained at least six.

Locals identified those detained as Shaheed Hassan Ziyad, Muhammad Zaher Qut, Waheed Hussam Ziyada, Muhammad Mahdi Hujja, Waleed Abdat and Abdul-Rahman al-Jabali.

In nearby Jenin district, locals reported at least three detentions. The detainees were identified as Ibrahim Khuzaimiya, Emran Fadel Nazzal and Zedan Fadel Nazzal.

Only one detention was reported in the Tubas district. Locals identified the man as Mansour Bani Odah.

In Tulkarem, Israeli forces raided and ransacked the family homes of three Palestinians held by Israel, identified as Ali Barahma al-Rihawi, Ahmad and Saleh Balawnah

At least eight other Palestinians were detained, but were not immediately identified.

While a varied number of Israeli arrest raids take place every night in Palestinian communities, 33 detentions in one overnight period is higher than average.

During the week of Feb. 9 to Feb. 15, Israeli forces carried out 103 search and arrest operations into the West Bank, according to the UN's Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.

According to Palestinian prisoners’ rights group Addameer, 6,900 Palestinians were being imprisoned by Israel as of January 2016, including 650 in administrative detention.
