JERUSALEM (Ma’an) -- A Palestinian child who stabbed an Israeli light rail guard in Jerusalem on Tuesday is being held under Israeli police custody in the Hadassah hospital in West Jerusalem, relatives told Ma'an Thursday.

Ali Ihab Hassab Ali, 12, was shot three times after stabbing an Israeli guard in Jerusalem and underwent surgery to remove a bullet from his stomach.

Israeli forces have prevented Ali's family from visiting him since he arrived at the hospital Tuesday.

Video footage of the incident shows Ali and his cousin Ahmad Ali sitting in a light rail carriage before one pulls out a knife and stabs a security guard.

The Israeli security guard was moderately wounded.
