Palestinian shot, injured after stab attack in Jerusalem

BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- A Palestinian man was critically injured on Friday after being shot following a stab attack in East Jerusalem, Israeli police said.

Police spokesperson Micky Rosenfeld said a 23-year-old Palestinian was shot after stabbing an Israeli near a light rail station by the illegal French Hill settlement.

Israel's army said two Israelis were stabbed and injured by the Ammunition Hill station near the Palestinian Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood, with Israeli media later reporting that the second Israeli was injured after being shot by Israeli police as they tried to fire at the attacker.

Earlier, a Palestinian identified asQassem Mahmoud Sabaneh from Jenin was shot and killed, while another man was critically injured, after allegedly attempting to stab an Israeli border policeman at the Zatara checkpoint south of Nablus.
