RAMALLAH (Ma'an) -- A Palestinian injured by Israeli gunfire last week during clashes along the Gaza border died from his wounds on Friday, the Gaza Ministry of Health said.

The man was identified as Shawqi Jabr Obeid, 37, from Jabalia.

Obeid was shot and injured during border demonstrations last Friday to show solidarity with protesters in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem.

At least ten Palestinians were shot dead in the protests, including two boys aged 13 and 15, and over 145 Palestinians were injured by live fire or rubber-coated steel bullets, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.

Since the beginning of October, at least 170 Gazans have been shot by Israeli live fire at demonstrations along the border, the ministry added.

Days after the protest killings, a pregnant woman and her two-year-old daughter were killed when an Israeli air strike caused their home to collapse in southern Gaza City, Gaza's Ministry of Health said.

Israeli forces on Thursday announced heavier deployments at the border area with Gaza following the announcement of a Hamas-prompted "day of rage" planned to take place on Friday, an Israeli army spokesperson said.

Clashes have been frequent along the border fence recently, as Gazans have planned protests in solidarity with demonstrations in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem.

Israeli authorities have reported multiple "breaches" at the border fence during the clashes.

Israeli forces have killed 32 Palestinians across the occupied Palestinian territory and Israel since Oct. 1, at least 18 of whom were shot during demonstrations and clashes.

At least seven Israelis have been killed in the same time period, the majority of which have been killed in stabbing attacks carried out by Palestinians in occupied East Jerusalem and other parts of Israel.
