GAZA (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces shot and injured two Palestinians as dozens of protesters stormed the Israeli border fence near al-Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza Strip, medical source said.

Medical sources said two Palestinians were shot with live bullets and taken to Shuhada al-Aqsa hospital in Dier Al-Balah for treatment.

Witnesses said Israeli forces fired tear gas and unleashed dogs on Palestinians who managed to cross the border.

An Israeli army spokesperson said "dozens of rioters breached the border fence in the Gaza Strip, Israeli forces responded and are containing the breach," without adding further details.

On Friday Israeli forces shot and killed seven Palestinians in the Gaza Strip during protests at the fence.

One hundred and forty-five other Palestinians were injured by live fire or rubber-coated steel bullets during the incident, the Palestinian Ministry of Health said at the time.

An Israeli army spokesperson told Ma'an at the time that 200 Palestinians approached the security fence and hurled rocks and rolled burning tires at Israeli forces.

What bunch of cowards the Israeli military is. Shooting and killing people from across the fence. It must be under Netanyahu's order. He must be a very desperate man.
