HEBRON (Ma’an) -- Israeli forces detained five Palestinians in arrest raids overnight Sunday in the occupied West Bank, Israel's army and locals said.

In Beit Ummar, Israeli soldiers detained teenagers Hamza Azmi Ikhlayyil, 18, and Noor Riyad Issa Arar, 19, after smashing the front door to their homes.

Noor's father, Riyad, 48, was handed a summons order to appear at Gush Etzion interrogation center for questioning.

Riyad is the director of the Hebron office for NGO Defense for Children International - Palestine.

An Israeli army spokeswoman said five Palestinians were detained overnight, including two in Beit Ummar, two "Hamas operatives" in Nablus and Ramallah, and another man south of Nablus.

Israeli forces routinely detain Palestinian in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem, usually on the pretext of security questioning.
